New Bathroom and Kitchen Fitter Website for KJL in Ipswich

KJL Building Maintenance, a family-run bathroom and kitchen fitter in Ipswich, now has its own website. Here's what we built and why, with screenshots.

Kevin Legge has been fitting bathrooms and kitchens around Ipswich for 20 years. Until this month, the only place to find his work online was a Facebook page. Now KJL Building Maintenance has a website of its own, and it went live within a week of Kevin first getting in touch.

Here is what we built, with screenshots from the live site, and why each part is there.

Say the job and the town straight away

Someone searching "bathroom fitter Ipswich" decides in seconds whether they've found the right firm. So the homepage headline names the three things KJL does, and the line above it says "Family-run · Ipswich and 20 miles around".

Three buttons follow: get a quote, see the work, or call. A fourth line invites people to WhatsApp photos of the job, which is how many bathroom enquiries start.

A page for every town that matters

Ipswich isn't KJL's only patch. Customers in Woodbridge, Felixstowe or Stowmarket search for a fitter near them, not one in the next town.

The site has seven town pages: Ipswich, Woodbridge, Felixstowe, Kesgrave and Martlesham, Stowmarket, Hadleigh and Needham Market. Each one is written about that place. The Ipswich page talks about the town's Victorian terraces, inter-war semis and new builds, and what each usually needs before a new bathroom goes in.

Let the finished rooms do the selling

People buy a bathroom with their eyes. KJL had good photos of finished jobs, so we gave them room: nine bathrooms and three kitchens, each labelled with what it is, such as "black marble-effect tiles with a brass-framed shower".

Those labels help visitors, and they help search engines understand the images too.

Real reviews, word for word

KJL's customers had already said it better than any sales copy could. Eleven reviews sit on their own page, quoted exactly, with the customer's name and the type of job. The strongest ones also appear on the relevant service and town pages, so a visitor reading about bathrooms sees what bathroom customers said.

A quote in two taps on a phone

Most people look for a tradesperson on their phone, often in the evening. Typing out a description of a bathroom on a small screen is where many give up.

So the homepage has a short picker: choose the job (bathroom, kitchen, repair or something else) and the timing, then tap "Start my quote". The enquiry form opens already filled in. Call, WhatsApp and quote buttons also stay at the bottom of the screen on every page.

The details that build trust

The About page tells Kevin's story: born in Ipswich, in the trade since he was 15, and ten years as a site foreman. It also lists KJL's public and employers' liability insurance, waste carrier licence and VAT registration, and its promise to come back if something it fitted develops a problem.

Behind the scenes, every page has its own title, description and structured data, so Google knows KJL is a bathroom and kitchen fitter based in Ipswich. That gives KJL a sound footing in search. Rankings still take time, and we won't promise a position.

What tradespeople can take from this

If you fit bathrooms, kitchens or anything else in Suffolk, KJL's site shows what a good trade website needs:

  • Say what you do and where, in the first line.
  • Give each town you cover its own useful page.
  • Show your own finished work, labelled.
  • Quote real reviews exactly.
  • Make the enquiry quick on a phone.
